HELLO!
I am writing on behalf of the team at HELLO! to thank you and your team for the excellent work carried out over last weekend, enabling HELLO! issue No1196 to be on sale from Tuesday.
We had decided very late to include the Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell wedding in the issue that editorially closed on Friday night. Sir Paul’s wedding was at 3.00pm on the Sunday, so it meant running late and rescheduling the distribution.
Bedfords made sure that the planning and despatch of issue 1196 went without a hitch, and that we met all our wholesaler delivery targets.
Bedfords do a great job for us week after week, but with issue 1196, we gave you a serious test, and your team came through with great competency and professionalism.

Distribution service levels to our customers have improved significantly since we engaged with Bedfords to handle all our transport requirements six months ago. We were particularly impressed with their performance during the recent bad weather. We received reports from customers who continued to receive on time deliveries from DPC whilst all others were failing.
There is a great "can do" culture at Bedfords, which closely mirrors our own. We appreciate that these things only happen with a great deal of skill and effort in the background. Thanks again for the excellent service we are receiving and long may it continue.

During the last 6 days the Country has experienced nothing short of chaos on the roads and travel network of Great Britain. Tuesday’s DM headlines sums it up well, ‘Why can’t we cope in snow?’
So, as the Country slips into road chaos our haulier, Bedfords Transport, has successfully delivered to every single wholesaler every day without fail. That’s over 1200 deliveries for live news alone and through the worst of the weather.
So, where it took one of our competitors from West Ferry until 11am to reach Peterborough our haulier’s driver was already home and in bed! The West Ferry vehicle didn’t even complete the journey to Kings Lynn.
On the same day, Friday 18th Dec by 7am only the Mail and a couple of other titles had been received and sent out to retailers. The Sun, Mirror, Guardian and a number of smaller titles only reached the wholesaler by 10am.
In short, our haulier and their partners have performed minor miracles in reaching their destinations without fuss or complaint.
Our Wholesale distributors have had to undertake 3133 reruns for other publishers, Thursday 17th to Tuesday 22nd December and NIL for Associated Newspapers.

We have been working in partnership with Bedfords Transport for 5 years now. They carry our pallets from the local area in Leeds and Wakefield and distribute throughout the UK. One additional service they provide us with which is invaluable to our business is their movement of our pallets on a third party basis.
Through Palletforce, they collect a pallet from one of our nationwide plants and transport to another location in the UK. These pallets of bricks tend to be samples, or specials that could go to any location, e.g. a building site for an architect or alternatively to someone building their own house.
